Research at the Swedish Museum of Performing Arts is primarily conducted in collaboration with external researchers. Research projects at the museum are made accessible to the public in various ways, including exhibitions and workshops involving educators and researchers.<\/p>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n

Svenskt visarkiv \u2013 Centre for Swedish folk music and jazz research<\/h3>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n
\n

Svenskt visarkiv, preserves, publishes, and research material related to folk music, ballads, older popular music, jazz, and traditional dance. The archive has been conducting research since 1951, often using its own collections as a starting point. Research outcome is presented in books, recordings, web presentations, and public lectures. The archive also publishes the annual peer-reviewed journal Puls<\/em> \u2013 Journal of Music and Dance Ethnology<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n

The Music and Theatre Library of Sweden is a vital resource for research on music, theater, and dance. While the library does not conduct its own research, it plays an essential role in collaborations with external researchers by providing access and digital infrastructure to its extensive collections of scores, books, and journals. Research is made accessible to the public and academic circles through scholarly articles, books, and public lectures.<\/p>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n

Research Coordinator<\/h2>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n

Our research, scientific seminars, and conferences are organized by our research coordinator. This role also involves disseminating information between universities, colleges, external research groups, and research funders on the one hand and the Statens Musikverk departments on the other. The research coordinator’s responsibilities include monitoring scientific developments and trends both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n
